Winter 2008 Report

Your gift is making a difference in children’s lives! More than 250 children in Shamabanse, an outskirt of Kabwe, Zambia are now attending a new community school made possible by your generous gift to the God Rocks! Mission Project. Your generosity has made this project possible!

Children Now Attending School!

Richard Brown, a team member of VisionLedd, returned in early November from Kabwe with photos and great news about the status of the God Rocks! Mission Project. Construction by local workers has completed the office area and first classroom where more than 250 children began school in mid September. Ranging in age from five to fourteen years, these vulnerable kids are unable to attend government schools because of poverty and other circumstances. The children attend school in the mornings. Fifty at a time are in each classroom rotating to accommodate an expected five hundred when the second building is completed.

Progress Report

April 2008 - Following the rainy season, construction began on donated land.

September 2008 – The first classroom is built, and the children begin attending school! The fresh water well is also installed.

January 2009 - Coming Soon! The second classroom will be finished, and the school uniforms will be delivered. Hooray!

Multi-use Facility Also Helps Widows

The school will not only be used by the children. Widowed mothers will also be using the building in off hours. Thirteen sewing machines have been provided by VisionLedd for these brave women who have also planted a garden on the school property to grow vegetables!
